Undertake sand and stone and other bulk building materials transportation! Another dock in Zhejiang is officially put into trial operation

A few days ago, Zhejiang Shaoxing Port Shengzhou port central operation area terminal first terminal operating license issued, marking Shengzhou’s first modern terminal officially put into trial operation. It is reported that the terminal is located on the left bank of Shengzhou Sanjie Section of the Cao ‘e River, with six 500-ton berths, designed to pass 1.77 million tons of bulk and general cargo and more than 20,000 TEUs (TEUs), with a total investment of about 580 million yuan. After the operation of the terminal, it mainly undertakes the transportation of steel, cement, coal, mining construction materials and other bulk materials in Shengzhou and Xinchang and other surrounding areas.

As the pilot county of Zhejiang transportation power in the direction of “four ports linkage”, the completion and operation of the wharf in the central operation area of Shaoxing Port Shengzhou Port Area will further supplement the water transportation shortboard of the construction of modern comprehensive three-dimensional transportation system in Shengzhou, marking that Shengzhou is about to open a new chapter in the construction of a strong traffic city and the recovery of water transportation economy. The trial operation of the wharf reduces the logistics cost in Shengxin District through the combined transportation of public iron and water, drives the development of inland shipping on the Caoejiang River, and improves the comprehensive competitiveness of the surrounding manufacturing agglomeration area. It is an important node for the construction of Yiyongzhou main channel and the coordinated development of Shengxin District. Data show that among the three modes of transport, water transport, railway and road, water transport is the most low-carbon, green and environmentally friendly. According to the British shipping service Clarkson carbon emissions study shows that inland water transport carbon emissions of about 5 grams of carbon dioxide per ton kilometer, only 8.8% of road transport. At present, Shengzhou cargo transportation is still mainly by road, which is the main source of carbon emissions in the transportation field, and the carbon reduction potential is huge. It is expected that after the operation of the terminal, the carbon emissions can be reduced by 18,000 tons per year.
